Falling the right way with Resilient Falling

Kevin PowellCity, Parks & Recreation

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department’s Lifelong Recreation Division is providing an instructional program on how to safely fall while avoiding injury.

This class will explore components of balance: strengthening leg and core muscles, mindfulness and becoming aware of hazards in your environment. Participants will practice falling safely and getting up after a fall. Half of class will be active physical participation and the other half, informational. Participants must be able to get up from the floor with relative ease, in order to practice the safe falling.

Class will be held 2-4 p.m. Fridays, March 20-March 27, at East Lawrence Center, 1245 East 15th St.; Cost is $26.
