Kevin PowellCity, Solid Waste

In an ongoing effort to protect the health and safety of City employees and the Lawrence community, the City of Lawrence Compost Facility will be closed to the public effective immediately, including postponing the previously scheduled Compost & Woodchip sale events and canceling the upcoming Compost Facility Saturday activities.

The 2020 Compost & Woodchip sale events originally scheduled for March 27-28 and April 3-4 will no longer occur on those dates, but it is anticipated they will be rescheduled for later in the year. Information on new dates will be announced via news release.

The Compost Facility Saturday activities, including brush and yard waste drop-off as well as compost and woodchip purchases, will be canceled until further notice. Information on when the Compost Facility will be open again to the public will also be communicated via news release.
