Construction set to close Vermont Street parking lot

Kevin PowellCity, Construction, Municipal Services and Operations

Beginning Wednesday, April 1, construction will necessitate the closure of Parking Lot 5, which is off Vermont Street between 9th & 10th Streets. The closure will last approximately two weeks.

During the closure, work crews will resurface the parking lot. The alley between Vermont Street and Massachusetts Street will remain open during construction.

On March 17, the City suspended parking enforcement indefinitely. This includes enforcement of metered spots, parking garages and time-limited lots. Illegal parking, including parking in front of fire hydrants and no parking zones as well as parking in accessible spaces without proper tags, will continue to be enforced.

The City will announce via a news release when parking enforcement will begin again. The news will also be shared on City of Lawrence Facebook and Twitter
pages. You can subscribe to receive City News emails via the subscriptions page of our website: lawrenceks.org/subscriptions.
