Construction to close portion of Harvard Road

Kevin PowellCity, Construction, Municipal Services and Operations

Beginning Wednesday, May 13, a street maintenance project will necessitate lane closures on Harvard Road between Wakarusa Drive and Plymouth Drive for approximately three weeks.

Starting on Wednesday, the westbound lane of Harvard Road from west of Wakarusa Drive to east of Plymouth Drive will close to traffic for approximately one week. Following the completion of the westbound lane work, the eastbound lane will close for approximately two weeks.

Traffic control will be in place and suggested detours will be marked. Detours will utilize West 6th Street and Bob Billings Parkway to George Williams Way during the westbound lane closure, and West 6th Street and Bob Billings Parkway to Wakarusa Drive during the eastbound lane closure.

Updates will be provided as necessary. All project timelines are subject to change due to weather and other project-related delays. For more information on construction projects and traffic alterations in Lawrence, visit lawrenceks.org/construction.
