Lawrence Municipal Court will be open for business at 8 a.m. on Monday, June 8. Scheduled court dockets will resume on Monday, June 22.
The safety of the public and Municipal Court employees will continue to be our top priority as we reopen. New safety procedures and precautions have been put in place, including:
- Courtroom seating has been modified to allow for adequate social distancing.
- The use of a mask is highly encouraged and will be required in the courtroom. Please wear a mask if you have one. If you do not have a mask, one will be provided to you.
- If you are sick, please stay home and contact the court for information about your case.
- Some matters will be available for resolution by video conference, and further information on those opportunities will be shared next week.
Fingerprinting services will resume the week of June 22 on a reduced schedule, open Monday – Thursday from 9 a.m. – noon.
Remote payments for fines and fees are recommended if a court appearance is not required. Payments may be made online at www.citepayusa.com, or through the mail to PO Box 1695, Lawrence, KS 66044. You may also place payments and court documents in the drop box located just outside our entrance doors.
