The City of Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department will begin taking rental reservations for outdoor facilities, shelters and complexes beginning Monday, Aug.3.
Events requiring special use permits, such as large group events, alcohol service, tents or the sale of items for events being held Monday, Aug. 10, and beyond will also be accepted for review on Monday, Aug. 3, as well as right-of-way street event permits for events being planned for Tuesday, Sept. 8, and beyond.
The department continues to be in Phase Three and will continue to work with public health experts and city leaders in evaluating when the Phase Out period will begin.
The department reminds patrons to adhere to current mass gathering totals and social distancing guidelines.
Moreover, LDC Public Health’s order for the wearing of masks inside and outside for programs and activities where other people (except those who reside together) are present and unable to maintain a six-foot distance except for infrequent or incidental moments of closer proximity will be in effect.
