Suggested improvements sought for Lawrence dog parks, in-person meeting scheduled

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department will hold a public meeting to gather ideas for improvements to the City’s dog parks.

The meeting will be held in-person 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, at Mutt Run Off-Leash Dog Park, 1330 E. 902 Rd. The meeting will require social distancing and masks are required.

For those unable to attend the meeting, input may be provided through a survey posted on Lawrence Listens at: https://lawrenceks.org/listens/surveys/. Citizens may also stop by the Parks and Recreation Administrative Office, 1141 Massachusetts St., and fill out a paper copy of the survey. The survey will remain active through Friday, Oct. 9.

The intent of the meeting is to gather suggested improvements to Mutt Run Off-Leash Dog Park and the Riverfront Dog Park, 1594 N. Third St., as well as to discuss any additional future needs.

A follow-up meeting will be held once all information is collected and tabulated via Zoom 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21. Details and sign up for the remote meeting will be provided at a later date.
