Go back in time and groove with Hustle Workshop

Kevin PowellCity, Parks & Recreation

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department is offering a workshop that puts a new spin on a 1970s American dance.

Hustle Workshop is teaching participants the very exciting and energetic dance with the flexibility to look elegant and graceful, sultry and intimate, funky and fun to the American dance of the 1970s, Hustle. This workshop will share patterns and concepts related to Swing, Salsa, and other dances with various wraps and turns. Hustle Workshop will focus on the foundational elements and patterns to modernize the Hustle dance and get participants grooving on the dance floor.

This workshop will be held 5:45-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, at Sports Pavilion Lawrence, 100 W. 11th St. It is open to those 15 years-old and older and cost $15 per person. All levels are welcome to participate and partner enrollment is required.
