Capture nature’s stunning colors with painting program at Prairie Park

Kevin PowellCity, Parks & Recreation

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department’s Prairie Park Nature Center is hosting a class designed to teach the techniques of painting nature with acrylics.

In Easy Nature Acrylic Painting, participants will use acrylic paints as a medium to create an easy, step-by-step nature painting. The class will follow a demonstration and instruction on painting, brushwork, color blending and more. Using pictures and newly acquired techniques, participants will create their own nature painting in a few easy steps.

The class will be held 2–4:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at Prairie Park Nature Center. Cost is $25 and includes all of the necessary supplies. Available for participants 13 years-old and older.
