Get your heart pumping with H.I.I.T.

Kevin PowellCity, Parks & Recreation

Lawrence Parks and Recreation is hosting a class designed to help participants lose weight efficiently.

H.I.I.T: High Intensity Interval Training invites those 15 years-old and older to take part in this fat blasting class. Participants will experience an intense cardiovascular exercise that alternates with less intense recovery periods using Tabata formats. With this class, participants lose fat, not muscle, as well as build a healthier heart and increase metabolism.

This class is offered 5:45-6:40 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, Nov. 9-Dec. 16, at the Holcom Park Recreation Center, 2700 West 27th St. Cost of the class is $34 through Monday, Oct. 26, and $44 beginning Tuesday, Oct. 27, through the start of the class.
