Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department’s Lifelong Recreation Division offers fitness class to help older adults maintain healthy lifestyle.
Yoga will revitalize muscles and increase flexibility while learning how to stabilize your spin through the mindful movement and breathing techniques. Participants will stretch stiff muscles and learn how to align their spine correctly through slow progressive traction and less vigorous movements. Participants will also be able to use the full capacity of their lungs through correct breathing by bringing oxygen to the body and brain, improving blood circulation and sense of well-being.
This class is available 10:40-11:40 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Nov.10-Dec. 17. Cost of the class is $31 through Tuesday, Oct. 27, and $41, beginning Wednesday, Oct. 28, through the start of the class.
