The schedule of charges at The City of Lawrence cemeteries, operated by the Parks and Recreation Department, will see changes beginning Friday, Jan. 1, 2021.
As part of the approved budget in 2019, a $50 increase of property lot rights was accepted for all cemetery schedule of charges annually through 2023, except for all interment and the property lot rates for infants. Those fees will be maintained at present levels for 2021. The schedule of charges includes lots and burials at Oak Hill Cemetery, Memorial Park Cemetery, Maple Grove Cemetery and the Natural Burial Area in Oak Hill Cemetery. The increase will be placed in a perpetual maintenance fund to provide upkeep at the cemeteries. All other fees are being maintain without increases.

Also, changing Friday, Jan. 1, 2021, will be the rates for trees purchased through the Memorial Tree Program to account for tree variety and price increases that have taken place since 2010 when the last increase was made. Trees in the memorial program will now cost $400 each.
