Build your body with LPRD’s H.I.I.T.

Lawrence Parks and Recreation is hosting a class designed to help participants lose weight and gain muscle efficiently.

H.I.I.T: High Intensity Interval Training invites those 15 years-old and older to take part in this fat blasting workout. Participants will experience an intense cardiovascular exercise that alternates with less intense recovery periods using Tabata formats. With this class, participants lose fat, not muscle, as well as build a healthier heart and increase metabolism. Participants should bring a fitness mat to class.

This class is offered 5:45-6:40 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, March 15-May 19, at Holcom Park Recreation Center, 2700 West 27th St. Cost of the class is $67.

This class requires face coverings being worn at all times and are following COVID-19 safety guidelines, which can be found at https://assets.lawrenceks.org/lprd/covid/fitnessmartialarts.pdf.

Conditions will be continuously be monitored and reviewed in consultation with public health professionals. Status updates will continue to be updated every Thursday to indicate the current risk level using green, yellow, orange or red based on the number of new cases, trends and percentage of positive COVID-19 test to mirror Lawrence-Douglas County Health’s recommendations being used for the Smart and Safe School Reopening Guidelines and Status for county schools.
