Tumble n’ Play to entertain kids and parents this spring

March 18, 2021

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department’s Tumble n’ Play program has four sessions through the end of March and dozens more to keep kids and their parents active and entertained all spring.

Tumble n’ Play plans to bring preschool-aged children one year-old to five years-old together with their parents for an hour of gymnastics fun. Instructors for this class will have stations set up throughout the gymnastics room for children to run, jump and tumble through engaging activities.

This program will be held Mondays and Wednesdays, 10:15-11:15 a.m. and Saturdays, 11:15 a.m.-12 p.m. at Sports Pavilion Lawrence®, 100 Rock Chalk Ln. East Lawrence Recreation Center, 1245 E. 15th St., also has time slots available on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10:15-11:15 a.m. Cost is $5 per time slot.

Gymnastics classes require face coverings to be worn at all times for children ages five years-old and older and are following COVID-19 safety guidelines, which can be found at https://assets.lawrenceks.org/lprd/covid/gymnastics.pdf.

Conditions will be continuously monitored and reviewed in consultation with public health professionals. Status updates will continue to be updated every Thursday to indicate the current risk level using green, yellow, orange or red based on the number of new cases, trends and percentage of positive COVID-19 test to mirror Lawrence-Douglas County Health’s recommendations being used for the Smart and Safe School Reopening Guidelines and Status for county schools. Individuals may find the current status by visiting the department website or the department social media platforms, Twitter and Facebook.
