Provide input on the Lawrence-Douglas County Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Plan Update.

What is Intelligent Transportation Systems or ITS? In general, Intelligent Transportation System includes detection systems and cameras for monitoring traffic conditions on roadways, dynamic message signs to provide real time travel information, vehicle location systems to track transit and emergency services vehicles, and a host of other technological elements and agency coordination processes.

  • The Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Plan can improve your daily travel by implementing technology to reduce stops and delays at intersections and improve travel time.
  • Implementing the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Plan provides greater efficiency for operations, examples include emergency services, work zone safety, and parking management.
  • Your input on the draft Plan will craft the final Plan.

Submit comments between May 6 – May 21.

After the public comment period closes, the plan will go before the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) and the MPO Policy Board for approval via zoom. If you would like to comment during the meetings, please sign up in advance using the zoom registration information which will be provided on the top of each meeting’s agenda.
