PPNC hosts morning of fishing fun
Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department’s Prairie Park Nature Center invites youth for a morning of fishing, learning and fun.
Let’s Go Fishing is an outdoor program for kids seven years-old to 13 years-old. Guests will enjoy two hours of angling at Mary’s Lake, the seven-acre lake seated on the south side of Prairie Park. The use and function of different baits and lures will be discussed. Participants may bring their own pole or use one provided by PPNC. Guests should prepare to be outside for the two-hour program with the appropriate outerwear, footwear, and sunscreen.

Conditions will be continuously be monitored and reviewed in consultation with public health professionals. Status updates will continue to be updated every Thursday to indicate the current risk level using green, yellow, orange or red based on the number of new cases, trends and percentage of positive COVID-19 test to mirror Lawrence-Douglas County Health’s recommendations being used for the Smart and Safe School Reopening Guidelines and Status for county schools.
