Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department is currently offering registration for adult softball and kickball leagues set to begin this summer, and today is the last day for early registration.
Fees for kickball and softball will be increased after today, Friday, May 13. The final deadline for registration is Friday, May 21. Parks and Recreation offers leagues for a range of skill levels from highly competitive to strictly recreational players. Kickball is offered in coed leagues, and softball is divided into men’s, women’s and coed leagues. Games begin the week of June 6 and run for approximately eight weeks.

Registration can also be completed at any Parks and Recreation facility including: the Community Building, 115 West 11th St.; Sports Pavilion Lawrence®, 100 Rock Chalk Ln.; East Lawrence Recreation Center, 1245 East 15th St.; Holcom Park Recreation Center, 2700 West 27th St.; Lawrence Indoor Aquatic Center, 4706 Overland Drive; Prairie Park Nature Center, 2730 Harper St. or the Administrative Office in South Park, 1141 Massachusetts St.
Conditions will be continuously monitored and reviewed in consultation with public health professionals. Status updates will continue to be updated every Thursday to indicate the current risk level using green, yellow, orange or red based on the number of new cases, trends and percentage of positive COVID-19 test to mirror Lawrence-Douglas County Health’s recommendations being used for the Smart and Safe School Reopening Guidelines and Status for county schools.
