Comment on the draft 2022 safety performance measure targets

The Lawrence-Douglas County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is releasing draft targets for the 2022 safety measures. Safety measures include: the number of fatalities and serious injuries, rate of fatalities and serious injuries per 100 million VMT, and the number of non-motorized fatalities & serious injuries.

These annual targets are federally required performance measures under Fixing America’s Surface Transportation Act – FAST Act.

The 15-day public comment period for these draft targets starts on October 12, 2021 and will end on October 26, 2021.

These targets will come before the Lawrence-Douglas County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) Policy Board for approval on November 18, 2021.  Following MPO Policy Board approval these targets will be incorporated into Transportation 2040 Appendix F and the FFY21 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP).
