Nature center to offer field trips for homeschooled students

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department’s Prairie Park Nature Center is offering a series of field trip programs for homeschooled students to engage with nature.

Exploring Nature for Homeschooled Students provides students ages six years-old to 13 years-old opportunities for two-hour field trip programs with a different topic each time. This program meets benchmarks for K-6 State Science outcomes.

The earliest field trip will be held 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3. Additional trips will take place from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. on Nov. 17, Dec. 1 and Dec. 15. All programs will meet at Prairie Park Nature Center, 2730 Harper St. Cost is $10 per trip, per person. Pre-registration is required at least one day in advance.
