Kevin PowellCity, Parks & Recreation

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department is offering a Latin dance workshop to help participants improve their dance skills.

Cha Cha Workshop teaches the fundamentals and basic to intermediate patterns of the cha-cha. The cha-cha is a Latin dance that uses both single and triple rhythm movements. Participants will learn this versatile dance with movements such as sideways, forward and backward patterns. All these movements can be incorporated into various styles of music.

The two-hour dance workshop is available to participants 15 years-old and older and will be held 5:45-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, at Sports Pavilion Lawrence®, 100 Rock Chalk Lane. Cost is $15 per person. Partner enrollment is required.

Masks must be worn at all times while visiting Sports Pavilion Lawrence® and other LPRD facilities unless actively participating in a class, during which participants 11 years-old and older may remove their face coverings.
