Science camp introduces youth to the world of robotics

Kevin PowellCity, Parks & Recreation

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department, along with Mad Science of Kansas City, offers children a fun, interactive program to explore robotics.

Rockin’ Robots will give campers the opportunity to learn about robot design, circuits, and the programming required for robots to complete tasks. Students will program robots, participate in robot relays, and discover how robots use sensors to explore and interact with things around them. Each camper will build their own working robot to take home with them.

Rockin’ Robots will be held 9 a.m.-noon Monday-Thursday, Dec. 27-30, at Sports Pavilion Lawrence®, 100 Rock Chalk Lane. This camp is open to children seven years-old to 12 years-old. Cost is $150 per child.
