Transportation 2040 is the blueprint for our future Transportation system. It is a vision for a healthy, safe, and efficient Transportation system, which adequately serves Lawrence, Eudora, Baldwin City, Lecompton, and unincorporated areas of Douglas County.
The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) requested an amendment to Transportation 2040 to add K-33 improvements (Franklin County line to US-56) to the fiscally constrained project list. K-33 is are being added to the KDOT Eisenhower Legacy Transportation Program Development Pipeline.
Transportation 2040 amendments provide a 30-day public comment and review period, which will begin on January 24 and will end on February 23.
Comments received will be considered and presented to the Lawrence-Douglas County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) Policy Board at their March 17 virtual meeting, 3 pm.
