Get fit the fun way with LPRD’s Zumba classes

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department is offering Zumba fitness classes for the summer season.

Zumba is a Latin-inspired dance fitness class incorporating international music and dance movements, creating a dynamic, exciting and effective fitness program. Zumba combines fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body using an aerobic fitness approach to achieve a unique blended balance of cardio and muscle-toning benefits.

Zumba is open to anyone 15 years-old or older. Sessions are offered:

  • 12:10-12:50 p.m., Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, June 6-Aug. 26, at Holcom Park Recreation Center, 2700 West 27th St. Cost is $98.
  • 5:30-6:25 p.m., Mondays, June 6-Aug. 22, at the Community Building, 115 West 11th St. Cost is $44.
  • 5:30-6:25 p.m., Wednesdays, June 8-Aug. 24, at the Community Building, 115 West 11th St. Cost is $48.
  • 9-9:50 a.m., Saturdays, June 11-Aug. 27, at Sports Pavilion Lawrence®, 100 Rock Chalk Lane. Cost is $44.
