Survey open for third round of traffic calming pilot in Old West Lawrence

Kevin PowellCity, Construction, Municipal Services and Operations

In October, the City of Lawrence installed a third round of revised traffic calming devices as part of the Old West Lawrence traffic calming pilot program. This installation was based on the recommended plan from the members of the Old West Lawrence Traffic Safety Team, and a map is available here to review.

The temporary configuration will be removed in the coming weeks due to winter weather considerations. As the third round installation wraps up, the City has opened a survey on Lawrence Listens to collect resident feedback. The survey will close on Wednesday, Nov. 30.

The City anticipates presenting the survey feedback, data collection findings, and a recommendation for next steps to the Multi-Modal Transportation Commission (MMTC) on Monday, Dec. 5. At that time, the MMTC will decide if they want to proceed with a recommendation to the Lawrence City Commission.

The Neighborhood Traffic Management Pilot program web page has details further details on the program.
