W 25th St. closed between Iowa St. and Ridge Ct. 

Starting today, March 14, Eastbound W 25th St. will be closed between Iowa St. and Ridge Ct. This closure will occur during the daytime and the traffic control will be removed at the end of each workday, around 5 p.m.

The City anticipates completing this work on Friday, March 17.

11th St. to close today for sidewalk replacement

Today, March 14, City contractors will briefly close 11th St. between Indiana St. and Mississippi St. to replace sidewalks in the area while the University of Kansas is on Spring Break. No through traffic will be permitted during construction. This project is a part of the City’s Sidewalk Improvement Program.

The closure will only be in place for several hours in the morning. The City anticipates the closure to end the same day, March 14. Other traffic pattern shifts will remain in the area through the week.

Construction for E 19th St. between Harper St. and O’Connell Rd. to resume on March 20

Beginning March 20, City contractors will resume construction on E 19th St. between Harper St. and O’Connell Rd. This will include a full closure of 19th St. between 2001 E 19th St. and O’Connell Rd.

The E 19th St. construction was originally slated to be completed in August of 2022, but had significant delays due to weather and other unanticipated construction issues. The City anticipates completing the remaining work by the end of May 2023, pending weather or other delays.

Intersection of W 8th St. and Indiana St. to close March 20

Beginning March 20, City crews will close the intersection of W 8th St. and Indiana St. to complete repairs on a storm sewer inlet that has been damaged by vehicles. Through-traffic will not be permitted during construction.

The City anticipates this closure will last three days.
