Beginning Thursday, November 14, contractors for the City’s 6th St. improvement project will change the traffic control along 6th St. from Massachusetts St. to Kentucky St. to begin pavement work on the inside lanes. This phase of the project is scheduled to occur over Thursday and Friday this week, with work beginning at 5 AM on Thursday.
During this time, traffic will remain open along 6th St., but drivers should expect momentary delays as crews complete the work. To help navigate through the area, flaggers will be present to assist drivers, and the City encourages drivers to consider alternate routes using Tennessee St. and 7th St. for accessing downtown.
The City appreciates the public’s patience as we work towards the completion of the project, and we encourage all drivers to be safe and attentive while in the work zone. For more information on this project and other improvements along 6th St., visit lawrenceks.org/mso/6th-street-construction.
