This free* public event is a chance for Lawrence and Douglas County residents to dispose of unwanted electronic items responsibly. Recycling electronics keeps harmful materials out of the landfill and gives valuable components a second life—making it a win for your home and the planet.
Accepted Items
Bring items like laptops, desktops, printers, phones, small appliances, TVs, monitors, cables, and more! There will be a small fee for certain TVs and Monitors:
- CRT TVs & Monitors – $40 each
- Projection TVs – $40 each
- LCD TVs & Monitors – $10 each
- *Payment accepted via cash, PayPal, or Venmo only.
The drop-off site will be located on the east side of Free State High School, with access from Overland Drive between Wakarusa and Folks Roads. Clear signage and event staff will guide vehicles through the drive-thru process. For everyone’s safety and efficiency, please remain in your vehicle during the event.
Teknix Solutions’ certified professionals will handle all equipment and ensure your data is securely destroyed or wiped using NIST SP 800-88 standards.
