Project: Iowa Street Reconstruction – South of Harvard to Irving Hill
Traffic Impact: The intersection of 15th Street and Iowa is open to traffic in all directions. Construction remains on Iowa Street north of the intersection. Crews will begin working on the southbound lanes of Iowa from 15th to Harvard first and then work on the northbound lanes. Traffic will be able to go north and south but will be down to one lane, in each direction, until the project is completed. The project completion date is scheduled for mid-November.
This is a $6.6 million project which is paid for using KDOT Highway Safety funding, KDOT Surface Transportation Program funding and city sales tax.
Project Timeline: February 2013 to November 2013
Recommended Detour: East/west traffic to use 23rd Street or 6th Street, Kasold or Kentucky Streets for north/southbound traffic
