Jennifer Ananda moved to Lawrence in 2000 to attend the University of Kansas. Jennifer graduated from KU in 2004 with a Bachelors degree in film and English. From 2000 to 2006, Jennifer worked at the Merc Co+op and at the Lawrence Public Library, as well as sitting on several boards. In 2006, Jennifer enrolled in KU Law School. In 2010, Jennifer graduated from KU with a JD, MSW and went to work at the Kansas Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence doing facilitation and community organizing. After leaving the coalition, Jennifer opened a law firm with Boog Highberger, where she practiced litigation in several areas civil, criminal, and immigration cases. Jennifer returned to the coalition for nearly two years before coming to work at KU as the Deputy Title IX Coordinator and Policy Specialist, where she has been since June 2016. Jennifer was elected to the City Commission in 2017.
