East Lawrence Neighborhood Plan

In 2021, the Planning Commission authorized the Planning & Development Services Department to create neighborhood plans to incorporate into the City’s existing comprehensive plan, Plan 2040. The East Lawrence neighborhood has historically engaged with neighborhood planning efforts including a previously adopted neighborhood plan, East Lawrence Revitalization Plan.

The Planning & Development Services Department is seeking public engagement on an updated neighborhood plan for East Lawrence.

Previous Meetings

  • May 22, 2025: Community Conversation
The East Lawrence Neighborhood Plan Team hosted a community conversation on the Plan’s draft goals at the Carnegie Building (200 W. 9th Street) on May 22, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Along with an accompanying survey, the meeting provided an opportunity for participants to share what they liked and disliked about the proposed goals, and how they could be modified to better suit the neighborhood. Twenty-one participants checked in, with eight participants having addresses between 6th and 9th Street, six between 9th and 12th Street, and six between 12th and 15th Street (one participant did not provide an address). Attendees provided comments on sticky notes next the respective goals, completed surveys, and discussed concerns and questions with planning staff.

The feedback from the meeting, along with the corresponding survey results, will be tabulated and used to tailor the next draft for review. Sticky note information and survey responses without responder information will be added to this page as soon as they are available.
