Batting Cages

Due to the ongoing winter storm, City facilities, including City Hall and all Parks, Recreation and Culture facilities, will be closed on Tuesday, Feb. 18. This is due to the forecasted winter storm resulting in dangerous travel conditions.

The batting cages closed indefinitely in 2019. Breakdowns of the machines were becoming more commonplace and problematic, while maintenance costs had risen to a level that didn’t make fiscal sense. Over the previous three years (2016-2018), the cages had an average revenue of $4,800, while the cost to purchase and install a new machine would cost more than $80,000.
