Chaparral Park

Prairie Park Directions

2700 Ponderosa Drive

HISTORY
The City established the Chaparral Playlot in 1975 after purchasing the area through a tax sale. Incidentally, that same tax sale allowed Lawrence to acquire Naismith Valley Park.

After an increasing need for another park in the growing area, Lawrence built the Playlot. Prior to Chaparral’s creation, Edgewood Park and Broken Arrow Park were the only parks nearby.
