Environmental Education Programs for Schools and Other Groups

Due to the ongoing winter storm, City facilities, including City Hall and all Parks, Recreation and Culture facilities, will be closed on Tuesday, Feb. 18. This is due to the forecasted winter storm resulting in dangerous travel conditions.

One-Hour Programs at the Nature Center or your facility

These are all available year round at the nature center or as off-site outreach programs. Our one-hour programs typically consist of an indoor program showcasing our nature center’s animal ambassadors. If you’d like a one-hour program outdoors and you’ve got something different in mind, let us know!

On-site: $150 for up to 50 people. $175 for over 50 people.

Off-site: $225 for up to 50 people, plus mileage if outside city limits. $275 for over 50 people, plus mileage if outside city limits.

Two Hour Field Trips - at the Nature Center

School field trips are correlated to Kansas State Science outcomes. Field trips combine an hour-long indoor animal presentation, a 40-minute long naturalist-lead hike or other activity, and 20 minutes to explore the nature center.

$7 per student, $7 per parent (parents can pay at time of program.) $200 minimum charge.
