Transportation Improvement Program

The Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) is a multi-year listing of federally funded and locally significant non-federal funded improvements to the region’s transportation system. This document is developed in cooperation with FHWA, FTA, KDOT and affected transit operators. The TIP is reviewed on an annual basis. At a minimum, the TIP shall include all projects that are anticipated to receive any federal funds, as well as all other regionally significant transportation projects, whether or not these projects receive federal funding. All projects to which federal funding is pledged must be consistent with the long-range transportation plan.

Public comments received on the TIP as part of the public comment period can be found here.

Listings of Federally Obligated Projects – Every year the Lawrence-Douglas County MPO, the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT), and the Lawrence Transit staffs review the projects that federal funds were /obligated for during the latest completed federal fiscal year.  A memo and table is compiled listing federal aid transportation projects which is to illustrate the progress of projects as they move through the years in the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP).
