Evidence and Property

Microsoft is currently experiencing a nationwide service disruption which is intermittently affecting Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive and other online services used by City staff. They are working to implement a solution but do not currently have an ETA when that will be complete.

The Lawrence Police Department Evidence and Property Room stores all items collected by the Lawrence Police Department and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

Individuals with property stored in the evidence room may call (785) 832-7552 between 8 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday, to speak with evidence personnel.  Property will be returned by appointment only.

Releases should be obtained from either the District Attorney’s Office or  Lawrence Municipal Court, depending on where they’re scheduled to appear.

If the property was seized as the result of a search warrant, a court order must be obtained authorizing the release of specific items.

Found Property/Evidence auctions are contracted through PropertyRoom.com.
