 All programs, activities, leagues canceled, facilities to close through Sunday

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department has canceled all programming starting at 4:30 p.m. and will close all facilities at 5 p.m. tonight.  All scheduled programs will be canceled and buildings will remain closed through Sunday, Jan. 15, due to the forecasted inclement weather.

This includes all fitness classes, adult sports, youth sports, aquatic classes, nature and other programming offered by the department.

The Heart of America volleyball tournament scheduled for this weekend at Sports Pavilion Lawrence, 100 Rock Chalk Lane, has also been canceled with a tentative make-up date this spring.

All recreation facilities will also close tonight at 5 p.m. and remain closed through Sunday, Jan. 15, reopening on Monday, Jan. 16, with its holiday hours scheduled released earlier today- http://lawks.us/2ilpD08.  This includes: East Lawrence Recreation Center, 1245 E. 15th St.; Holcom Park Recreation Center; 2700 W. 27th St., the Community Building, 115 W. 11th St., the Indoor Aquatic Center, 4706 Overland Drive, Carl Knox Natatorium located on the Lawrence High School campus, 1901 Louisiana St., Eagle Bend Golf Course, 1250 E. 902 Rd.; Prairie Park Nature Center, 2730 Harper St. and Sports Pavilion Lawrence, 100 Rock Chalk Lane.
