After-School Survival Adventures popular among youth

LAWRENCE – Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department’s Prairie Park Nature Center continues after-school programs teaching youth valuable survival skills.

Walk on the Wild Side: After-School Survival Adventures takes place 3-4:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Jan. 18; Feb. 1; Feb. 15 and March 29, at the nature center, 2730 Harper St. Participants can get hands-on experience while exploring the strategies animals use to survive daily life. Activities and topics include navigation, fire building, water purification and how not to get lost. Cost is $5 per child.
