Roll-Off Container Rental

Roll-off containers are ideal for commercial, industrial, and construction-demolition sites, and for peak volume generation events (such as move-in and move-out for residential complexes).

The City of Lawrence has launched a new dumpster rental software program. Updates include a streamlined rental process with prepaid charges to eliminate unexpected bills.

 

Accepted and Prohibited Materials

Accepted materials for roll-off container services include: Municipal solid waste, construction and demolition materials, etc. Container cannot be filled to capacity with demolition material, concrete, rock, and other heavy materials due to weight limitations.

Prohibited materials include: Tires, paint, chemicals, hazardous waste, refrigerators, air conditioners, or other items containing freon.

***Roll-off containers can only be filled level full. Nothing can be hanging over the side or sticking out of the container.

Yard waste is also prohibited in roll-off containers, as it cannot be dumped at the landfill. Yard waste can be dumped at the compost facility located at 1420 E. 11th Street, which is open on Saturdays from March through December 16th.

 2024 Rental Rates with Descriptions

  • All rental rates below include one pickup and one ton of weight.
  • A new rental starts after each time the container is picked up and taken to the landfill.
  • A minimum of one ton will be billed for every dump. Landfill rates are $36.80/ton.
  • All weight over one ton will be billed to the customer.
  • No refunds will be issued if the weight is less than one ton.

Pay Online

make payment Pay your roll-off service bill online with a Visa, Discover or MasterCard. The City of Lawrence uses Paymentus to process credit card payments online, as well as over the telephone. To pay with a Visa, Discover or MasterCard by telephone call (855) 288-7904.

Payments made through Paymentus may take up to three business days to be posted to your account. NOTE: If you desire to pay more than $5000, you will need to process more than one payment.

 Notes on Fees

  • All charges must be prepaid before the rental will be scheduled.
  • A new rental starts after each time the container is picked up and taken to the landfill.
  • A trip charge will be added if container is blocked or overloaded when pick up is requested.
  • Containers are emptied at Hamm Sanitary Landfill. The landfill sets the price of the disposal fee per ton, which will be added to the customer’s bill.
  • A minimum of one ton will be billed for every dump. All weight over 1 ton will be billed to the customer. No refunds will be issued if the weight is less than one ton.
  • If a container is on-site for two months with no pickups scheduled, the Solid Waste Division reserves the right to bring in the container and charge the customer accordingly.
