Training Division

The goal of the Training Division is to provide competency-based training for department members and County EMS First Responders and to facilitate public awareness.

The Training Division does this in a variety of ways:

The Training Division provides annual training for department members, usually three hours in duration each weekday morning from 0830-1130, covering a variety of topics. These topics are selected to meet the base competencies, new information, regular review of knowledge, practical skills and equipment, and verification of these skills. This training is designed to meet the requirements of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), CFR, Kansas Board of EMS and National Curricula for re-certification of license to the employee’s level of training.

Annual training is conducted by the Training Division or a member with trainer experience in the topic area. Records and evaluations of these training sessions are kept on file and maintained by the Training Division for a predetermined length of time.
