Yard waste collection to begin Monday, February 27
The City’s Solid Waste Division will pick up yard waste on Monday mornings beginning on Monday, February 27th. Yard waste collected is transported to the City’s Compost Facility. For a complete list of yard waste collection guidelines, visit lawrenceks.org/swm.
Purchase a 95-gallon yard waste cart to begin experiencing the benefits – no heavy lifting, large enough to store 6 bags worth of yard waste, vents to keep odors down, and wider opening for easy filling with branches and leaves. Each yard waste cart is $60. Fill out the online form available at lawrenceks.org/swm. Once your purchase request is submitted, the City will add a one-time charge to your next utility bill statement and your new yard waste cart will be delivered to your home.
Alternatives to setting out yard waste for curbside collection are mulch mowing and backyard composting. Backyard composting bins are $40 each (limit one per household) and are available for sale to Lawrence residents by calling (785) 832-3030.
