The Prevention Division is currently located at 1 Riverfront Plaza, Ste. 320, Lawrence, KS 66044. It is headed by the Division Chief of Prevention, located in the Administration Building next to Station No. 5 at 19th and Iowa (1911 Stewart Ave) and supported by a Captain and a Lieutenant.
The primary goal of the Prevention Division is to reduce the incidence and severity of preventable injuries and fire loss through public education, code inspections, plan reviews, and investigations.
