Explorer Program

Microsoft is currently experiencing a nationwide service disruption which is intermittently affecting Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive and other online services used by City staff. They are working to implement a solution but do not currently have an ETA when that will be complete.

About the Explorer Program

  • Career Opportunities
  • Leadership Experience
  • Character Building and Education

The Explorer Program can also be used effectively as a recruitment program for future employees as well as an important part of a training program for future departmental volunteers. Some of our members have attended EMT-B, Fire Science college programs, Community Emergency Response Training, and other certification courses. The post continues to help with a variety of public education programs that LDCFM provides.

How to Join

Meetings are held twice a month and will be on the first and third Saturday of every month (can be subject to change). Contact us with questions or to check our next meeting:

Eligible recruits will be required to observe at least one post meeting before signing up. After attending the first meeting you may sit down with an advisor to go over post rules, regulations, and expectations. Once all paperwork has been completed, you will be scheduled for gear and uniform fitting. Once these requirements have been completed, you may begin attending the regularly scheduled meetings.
