October 22, 2018

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department is offering a free seminar providing the basics of estate planning.

Fundamentals of Estate Planning will provide the basics on how to plan for death and succession. The session also covers if a plan isn’t developed while living what impact it has on those loved ones and the process to transfer assets to them. It will also cover living wills and living trusts, as well as an overview of probate administration and the impact of estate and gift taxes. It will cover do not resuscitate directives (DNRs) and will touch on how limitations on Medicaid eligibility might affect your assets.

It will be held 10-11:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at the Carnegie Building, 200 W 9th St. The session is free and open to the public.
