Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department’s Indoor Aquatic Center will be the site of the Midwest Winter Classic Friday-Sunday, Dec. 7-9.
Hosted by Ad Astra Area Aquatics and the Kansas City Blazers and sanctioned under Missouri Valley Swimming, Inc., on behalf of USA Swimming, Inc., the 2018 Winter Classic will be held at the Lawrence Indoor Aquatic Center, 4706 Overland Dr. Admission to view the event is free.
Swimmers will participate in a variety of events from 5 p.m.-close Friday, Dec. 7, and 8:30 a.m.-5p.m. Saturday-Sunday, Dec. 8-9. Public lap swimming will be available on a limited basis throughout the meet during the normal hours of operation. The zero depth and children’s area will also be available without being affected during operating hours.
