Parks & Facility Maintenance II Position

    Pay Range:  $16.38 to $23.42 Hourly
(Starting Salary Between Entry- and Mid-Point of Pay Range, DOQ)
RESPONSIBILITIES:  This position will perform unskilled and semi-skilled labor in daily maintenance, projects and related service activities for parks, cemeteries and other municipal properties. Duties may include mowing and other care of turf areas, litter pickup, irrigation, small engine equipment repair, maintenance and care of shelters, restrooms, court areas, playground systems, skate park facilities, etc.  This position will be directly involved in the set up and breakdown of major park events. Will operate and maintain a variety of tools and equipment such as power blower, mower, skid loader and other specialized equipment and trucks.  This position will also be responsible for participating in snow removal operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade with one to two years of experience required in park and/or landscape maintenance.  Must have the physical ability to walk, crawl, kneel or stand for prolonged periods of time; perform moderate to heavy moving and lifting, and be subject to continuous physical exertion in extreme hot and cold temperatures. The successful candidate must pass the background check, post-offer City physical and drug screen and have a valid Kansas driver’s license.
