Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department is offering tumbling classes at East Lawrence Recreation Center for toddlers age 18 months-old to children five years-old with new eight-week sessions beginning next week.
Classes offered include: Baby Bears, Little Bears, Tumble Bears and Gym Bears.
Little Bears is open to those 18 months-old to 24 months-old. This class offers children and parents the opportunity to explore different activities using various pieces of gymnastics equipment. The focus will be on balance, strength, gross and fine motor skill development all while having fun and experiencing success! Parent/guardian assists child in class. One parent per child. Only registered participants are allowed in the classroom, no siblings. It is being offered 9:10-9:55 a.m. Mondays, Jan. 14-May 6; 6:30-7:15 p.m. Wednesdays, Jan. 16-May 8 and 9-9:45 a.m. Saturdays, Jan. 19-May 11. Cost is $160 per child, per session. Tumble Bears is open to those 3 years-old and will help improve physical awareness, body coordination and knowledge of movement. Motor skills are improved through the use of gymnastic apparatuses. It is being offered 11-11:45 a.m. Mondays, Jan. 14-May 6; 4:30-5:15 p.m. Tuesdays, Jan. 15-May 7; 5:30-6:15 p.m. Wednesdays, Jan. 16-May 8 and 6:30-7:15 p.m. Thursdays, Jan. 17-May 9. Gym Bears is open to those 4 years-old to 5 years-old and is designed to introduce all gymnastic apparatuses to children, as well as further develop and strengthen skills and strength. It is being offered 10-10:55 a.m. or 4:30-5:25 p.m. Mondays, Jan. 14-May 6; 5:30-6:25 p.m. Tuesdays, Jan. 14-May 7; 4:30-5:25 p.m. Wednesdays, Jan 16-May 8; 5:30-6:25 p.m. Thursdays, Jan. 17-May 9 and 11-11:55 a.m. Saturdays, Jan. 19-May 11. Beginning Boys and Beginning Girls, open to those 6 years-old to 10 years-old, is also offered at East Lawrence Recreation Center. Beginning Boys is offered 5:30-6:25 p.m. Mondays, Jan.14-May 6.
