Opportunity to volunteer to beautify the city through flower planting available

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department is preparing to break out the spring flowers to beautify Lawrence’s parks and public areas. Businesses and teams may see it as a great civic team-building project.

Volunteers ages 16 and up are needed at the following locations and times.

8-11 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, Lawrence Union Pacific Depot, 402 N. Second St.
8-11 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, South Park, 1141 Massachusetts St.
8-11 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, Downtown Lawrence and City Hall, 6 East Sixth St.
1-3 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, South Park, 1141 Massachusetts St.
8-11 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, South Park, 1141 Massachusetts St.
1-3 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, South Park, 1141 Massachusetts St.
8-11 a.m. Thursday, May 9, South Park, 1141 Massachusetts St.
1-3 p.m. Thursday, May 9, South Park, 1141 Massachusetts St.
8-11 a.m. Saturday, May 11, Downtown Lawrence
8-11 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, Downtown Lawrence
9-11 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, Vermont Street Butterfly Garden/Public Library Garden, 707 Vermont St.
8-11 a.m. Thursday, May 16, Downtown Lawrence
