Checkers Foods, located at 2300 Louisiana Street, has decided to bring City-sponsored recycling bins back to its parking lot.
Two City-sponsored bins will be available for recycling drop-off by the end of the business day on Thursday, September 19. The Checkers parking lot will feature a corrugated cardboard bin as well as a mixed paper bin. Previously, a third bin for newspaper was at the location, and although that bin is not returning, customers can place newspaper for recycling in the mixed paper bin.
Additionally, two alternate locations to drop off newspaper, cardboard, mixed paper, and glass for recycling remain in Lawrence. The Dillons Store at 4701 W 6th Street and Hy-Vee at 3504 Clinton Parkway still host City-sponsored recycling bins.
