October 29, 2019

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department wishes all Halloween participants a happy and safe trick-or-treat experience. LPRD recommends those participating in treat-or-treat this Thursday to do so between 6:30-8:30 p.m. Homeowners wishing to participate are asked to leave porch lights on for costumed youngsters. Below are some valuable tips to follow to ensure a safe Halloween.

Parent tip: An adult should always accompany children under 12 years of age.

Trick-or-treater tip: Always use the sidewalk and make sure to use traffic signals and crosswalks when crossing streets.

Costume tip: Children should wear white, reflective clothing, or use reflective tape and carry either a flashlight or glow stick.

Motorists tip: Use caution while entering and exiting driveways.
