Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department’s aquatics division offers fitness classes for those who are pregnant, as well as classes post-pregnancy, creating bonds between parent and child.
Prenatal Water Fitness provides women ages 16 years-old and older at any stage of pregnancy the opportunity to exercise. Water fitness during pregnancy provides many benefits including: decreased back pain, improved sleep patterns, increased energy levels and faster post-natal recovery. Class is 10-10:45 a.m. Saturdays, Jan. 18-March 7, at the Lawrence Indoor Aquatic Center, 4706 Overland Drive. Cost is $28.
Aqua Baby & Me gives participants ages 16 years-old and older the opportunity to bond with their children by using their baby’s natural weight and growth for a workout with naturally increasing resistance. Class is 9:15-9:45 a.m. Saturdays, Jan. 18-March 7, at the Indoor Aquatic Center. Cost is $28.
